Firefox
Firefox is a relatively light-weight (not as much as Minimo), intuitive, cross-platform, internationalised, standalone, GUI Web browser that is is based on the Navigator component of the Mozilla suite (aka SeaMonkey).
It can browse multiple pages in different tab panes, block only certain pop-up windows, bookmark multiple tab panes or an RSS feed, customise toolbars, and semi-automatically install security and other updates. Extensions are also available for applications from Web development functionality to games like Tetris. Firefox was formerly known as `Firebird', `Phoenix', and `m/b'.
The developers note that the official binaries on
http://mozilla.org/ are definitely proprietary; they contain
additional freedom-subtracted software (talkback functionality,
artwork, etc) therefore only the source tarball is free software.
(Also, the Mozilla Foundation requires that users of their binaries
agree to a contract
