Modify image brightness distribution to improve balance and detail. Combine a brighter and darker image to make a composite with improved dynamic range. Stitch two images together (panorama).

  • reduce fog or haze by removing "whiteness" and intensifying colors
  • adjust overexposed / underexposed areas to improve visibility of detail - change brightness of darker / brighter areas independently
  • increase "dynamic range" by combining an underexposed and overexposed image of the same subject (improve balance and visibility of detail in both bright and dark areas)
  • panorama (stitch two images together to make a wide image)
