GNU gnuae

'GnuAE' is the first release of a series of programs dealing with alternate energy systems (photovoltaic, wind, and hydro). GnuAE is the design and system sizing software, and TraceGUI (the next release, about 90% done) is a GUI for DC->AC power inverters (data logging and control). The main project is Abelmon (about 20% done), a power management system for off-grid houses.

With GnuAE, you select the various loads of a system, select photovoltaic panels and other components, and GnuAE figures out the quantity of panels, batteries, wire sizes, etc.
