Zufall

Zufall is a simple command line program to change the background image periodically. The new image is randomly chosen from a list of images which can be provided on the command line, in plain text files, gqview collections or by other programs, like Unix "find", via stdin. If the image doesn't fill the screen, the color of the resulting border is the average color of two corners of the image. This mostly fits the image very well.

Instead of changing the background itself, zufall can also provide an external program with the needed information to do this.

Zufall does not work if the root-window is hidden by another program that does not pick up changes on the root-window.
