GNU Cobol (formerly OpenCOBOL) is a free COBOL compiler that translates COBOL to executable using intermediate C sources, providing full access to nearly all C libraries.

The Cobol for GCC project is also an effort to integrate it into the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC).
