GNU Awk

https://www.gnu.org/software/gawk/
gawk is the GNU implementation of AWK, a programming language that has evolved considerably during the past 30 years. It also adds a large number of features over POSIX awk.

This package is well suited for working with text files, when several kinds of tasks occur repeatedly, for extracting certain lines and discard the rest is needed, or for making changes wherever certain patterns appear. It can handle simple data-reformatting jobs with just a few lines of code.
