The 'misctools' package includes the following:
bat- binary dump program; similar to the UNIX 'od' command pmod- copies file permissions. dirstack- curses-based directory browser/selector dirtree- generates hierarchical list of filenames for a given directory tree ftrunc- truncates files to specified lengths pascii- reads characters from keyboard and displays their ASCII code pfortune prints out random fortunes ranline- reads a line at random from a file stat- prints out information about a file textlock- password-protection program for text terminals like 'xlock' tformat- reformats text to fit in a specified number of columns watcherd watches filesize and invokes another program if it increases
This package was formerly known as 'pingtools.'
