X.Org
the X.Org project is a free implementation of the X Window System which runs on most free operating systems, including on the GNU system and its variants GNU/Linux.
The current X.Org release is X11R7.7.
The X.Org packages are maintained by volunteers from members of the X.Org Foundation. The most known package of this project is the current reference implementation of X: X.Org Server, which is free software under the X11 License.
