|Full description='absence' is a calendar tool for keeping track of people (but could be adapted for any other object) on a daily basis. It is meant to replace the traditional whiteboard where someone has used a permanent magic marker to mark a matrix, and vacations/training/etc. are marked with non-permanent markers as blocks. 'absence' is a CGI system, and has a resolution of one day. It is not meant for keeping appointments or for other activities that requires finer resolution. It generates an image for each month to be displayed using the GD library, and it can be configured to produce PNG or GIF (or even JPEG).

Calendar for keeping track of people

'absence' is a CGI application designed to help keep track of people in a group. It is intended to do one thing: allow the user to display the plans of all people in a group in a way that makes it easy to see who's present and who's absent. It is not intended for anything else. The resolution is one day.

It could easily be adapted do handle reservations for any set of objects, as long as a resolution of a day is acceptable. An example of a possible use is reserving machines/computers in a laboratory.
