GNU Package Manager
GNU Guix is a purely functional package manager for the GNU system.
It supports transactional upgrades and roll-backs, unprivileged package management, per-user profiles, and garbage collection. It builds up on the low-level build and deployment layer of the Nix package manager. Guix uses Guile as its programming interface.
DocumentationGNU Guix comes with a visual user interface for GNU Emacs, known as guix.el. It can be used for routine package management tasks, pretty much like the guix package command (see Invoking guix package). Specifically, “guix.el” makes it easy to:
- browse and display packages and generations;
- search, install, upgrade and remove packages;
- display packages from previous generations;
- do some other useful things.
- IRC general channel
