|Full description='''Libreboot''' is a coreboot distribution (distro) with proprietary software removed, intended to be a free (libre) 'BIOS' replacement for your computer.
Project goals

The goal of LibreBoot is to create a version of coreboot that contains no proprietary software.

This means removing all blobs from coreboot, and also removing (disabling) Kconfig rules of those machines (such as the Chromebooks, at the time of writing) that won't run without blobs.

Our project aims to provide two things:

Copyright and License

---------------------

The copyright on coreboot is owned by quite a large number of individual

developers and companies. Please check the individual source files for details.

coreboot is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Some files are licensed under the "GPL (version 2, or any later version)",

and some files are licensed under the "GPL, version 2". For some parts, which

were derived from other projects, other (GPL-compatible) licenses may apply.

This makes the resulting coreboot images licensed under the GPL, version 2.

100% free software repository, allowing users to build their own releases from our liberated sources.

Regular releases for selected machines — community supported and made for easy distribution.

Our repository remains a work-in-progress but early releases for the IBM ThinkPad X60 are available.
