Nix package manager

http://nixos.org/nix/
a purely functional package manager

Nix is a purely functional package manager that allows transactional upgrades and roll-back, per-user unprivileged package management, garbage collection, and referentially-transparent build processes.

It was originally written by Eelco Dolstra as a doctoral project at Utrecht University, and is currently maintained at Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands.
