RequestPolicy

https://www.requestpolicy.com/
Addon to stop connections external to the website being viewed.

RequestPolicy's new version is under development as RequestPolicy Continued.

This addon prevents all connections to external domains or IPs from any website you visit, this means no connections to external advertisement hosters, analytics not on their servers and more things that you might not want to connect to or load. Saves bandwidth and privacy. It does require you to give explicit permission for these connections to happen, which is easily done with a drop-down menu of attempted connections and whether you wish to allow them each permanently or temporarily.
