The Free Software Directory (FSD, or simply Directory) is a project of the Free Software Foundation (FSF). We catalog useful free software that runs under free Unix-like systems — particularly the GNU operating system and its GNU/Linux variants. Many of those programs also runs on proprietary operating systems. For software only available on Replicant see F-Droid (which contains a small percent of software with nonfree issues which are prominently warned about prior to install).

Licenses are verified for each and every program listed in this directory. We also warn for software with antifeatures.

If you are looking for a full operating system for your computer, please see our list of free GNU/Linux distributions.

The FSF provides this directory as a service to the free software community. Please consider donating to the FSF to help support this project.
