MARS is not fully free software
I tried to add a program to the directory called MARS (for assembling MIPS assembly), and it would appear to be free software [1]. But, there is actually 1 file that seems proprietary (mars/venus/HardcopyWriter.java licensed under a proprietary license [2]). I have emailed the MARS maintainer about this but I have not gotten a response yet. It might be possible to modify the program to remove that file, and then that modified version would be free software. Jacobk (talk) 13:04, 8 July 2022 (EDT)
