DSSI

Disposable Soft Synth Interface (DSSI) is sometimes described as Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API (LADSPA) for instruments. LADSPA is an audio effects plugin architecture for filters, reverbs and other sound processing software tools, whereas DSSI was designed specifically for instrument plugins that generate sound from note events.

LADSPA

LADSPA is an acronym for Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API.

LV2

LV2, an acronym for Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plugin API (LADSPA) version 2.

VST

VST is that it is a proprietary windows-only format until very recently - no one ever ported a VST *to* windows - recently Steinberg has loosened up on its licensing and there is a new nix port of the VST technology. The reason you will not find many VST native for nixes (and perhaps never will) is because much like gamers and other artists - audio developers are not very libre minded. Unfortunately, because Steinberg has had a virtual monopoly on computer audio for so many years, "a VST" has become something of any unfortunate synonym for any "DSP plugin" - entirely discounting apple AUs and any of the nix formats.
