To identify the source of the repository of packages: From https://stackoverflow.com/a/27216910: "With multiple repositories enabled, the package-list-packages view contains an "Archive" column that is populated for available (uninstalled) packages, e.g.:"

Repositories will be listed It is possible to use both MELPA Stable and MELPA at the same time, packages from both repositories will be listed.

  • Tromey's ELPA - https://tromey.com/elpa/
    • Emacs connects to it, but I don't see any packages listed for the repository with package-list-packages.
