GNUMed is a comprehensive and robust free and open source software package for a paperless medical practice. GNUMed servers run on any free software *nix, such as GNU/Linux and Free BSD. Clients can be written to run on any platform that supports TCP/IP for network communications. It is based on a robust SQL client-server concept and has built in mechanisms to monitor database integgrity at any time. If your data gets corrupted for any reason, you will be notified immediately and then the server will be able to repair the damage. The two layer transaction protocol will let you recover from any disaster at any itime. GNUMed features advanced multi-generation transaction logging and arbitrary levels of data encryption to maximze data integrity and to guarantee maximum confidentiality of sensitive data.
