Desktop status bar program focused on customization and aesthetics
Polybar is a program that can be used to display status bars on a GUI desktop. These bars can show various types of information, such as the current date/time or network status, as well as interactive controls for values such as audio volume or screen brightness.
The function and appearance of the status bars is set in plain-text configuration files, split into 'modules'. Modules can be written to display arbitrary information, including the output of other programs. Polybar also contains multiple built-in modules for common usage scenarios.
Polybar may be of use with window managers that do not have status bars themselves, such as Openbox or bspwm, or to display additional information beyond that which is shown in a certain desktop environment.
