Photo sharing server software, powered by ActivityPub
Pixelfed is a decentralized photo sharing platform with a modern UI and an easy to use interface. It is part of the Fediverse, which means it is able to communicate with other ActivityPub powered social networks, such as Mastodon, PeerTube, Friendica, etc. It also means that anyone can run their own server and interact with other Pixelfed servers.
It is a direct competitor to the known proprietary social network Instagram, marketing itself as a private and ethical choice for photo sharing.
